Frequently Asked Questions

Why Agile Academy?

Agile Academy’s live training program is different from typical online courses or 2-day certification workshops. Our 16 week program will engage you in live sessions with Agile industry experts, interactive assignments, and real-life simulations so you will feel confident that you have the knowledge and skills needed to be a product owner.

What are the daily responsibilities of a Product Owner?

The daily responsibilities of a Product Owner may vary depending on the project, but typically the daily responsibilities may include: defining and prioritizing product features, maintaining the product backlog, creating user stories and acceptance criteria, communicating with stakeholders and customers, and participating in sprint planning, review and retrospective meetings. They may also be responsible for managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring that the product meets customer needs. Additionally, they should be able to analyze customer feedback and use it to inform product decisions. Finally, the Product Owner should be able to track progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders and customers.

How many hours a week should I plan on committing to in order to be successful in this learning track?

You should expect to commit around 10-15 hours a week between live classes, online content, and fieldwork.

Do I need experience in tech or need to know how to code to be a Product Owner?

Because the Product Owner role is focused around business strategy, market/product research and communicating that vision to the development team, you do not need to know how to code or have extensive tech background. However, we do recommend going into this role only if you have prior experience working in a leadership and strategy role or have been in a professional career for a few years.

What time are the live classes?

Our classes are generally weekday evenings in the CST time zone to accommodate individuals in all time zones across the United States.

What do I need to complete the live sessions?

You will need a laptop or desktop, Zoom, and reliable internet. Handheld devices such as phones or tablets are not suitable for the interactive nature of live sessions.
